Volunteer Ministers Remembered

On September 11, 2006, the Church of Scientology of New York’s Volunteer Ministers were honored for their help in the aftermath of the 911 terrorist attack. The certificate signed by the Attorney General of New York reads as follows:

“Whereas, it is the tradition of the State of New York to pay tribute to those organizations that profoundly contribute to the well-being of the community and its residents; and

“Whereas, on this 5th Anniversary of the September 11th attacks, the Office of the Attorney General deems it right and fitting to reflect on and remember the victims who were lost and the pain of the loved ones who were left behind, as well as to salute those who have worked tirelessly to provide relief and promote long term recovery; and

“Whereas, though New York, Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania were physically impacted, citizens from coast to coast and around the world were deeply touched by the profoundness of this tragedy; and

“Whereas, though the wounds will never fully heal and the grief may never be comforted, we know that our humanity has not been defeated and that we will continue to help each other rebuild and move forward; and

“Whereas, the Church of Scientology, and other national faith-based response agencies who have devoted their time, energy and resources to victims and their families are to be commended for their tremendous acts of compassion and goodwill, and

“Whereas, these organizations continue to be beacons of hope for countless families and individuals who have been affected by mass tragedy; and

“Whereas, the positive impact of their countless good works, that promote healing and restore dignity in the face of adversity, is truly immeasurable; now therefore be it

“Resolved, that the Office of the Attorney General of the State of New York recognizes the Church of Scientology, and their tremendous efforts on behalf of those in need.”

Signed
