A Minor Catastrophe

I saw a friend of mine help her boy over a minor catastrophe the other day.

She's a Scientology Volunteer Minister and she helps people all the time. And because of the training she had she was able to help her own son when he really needed it.

It was about his dog. The boy and the dog grew up together. They were about as close as two members of different species could be.

Anyway , the poor dog ran out into the street right in front of a truck on Wed. It was over in a couple of seconds. And Jason (her son) could do nothing about it.

The dog was dead.

And Jason was absolutely crushed.

Shelly had learned an assist you can use to help someone overcome their feeling of loss when someone dies (assists are described in the Scientology Handbook). So she used this on Jason, and then followed it up with a Dianetics session.

It was amazing to watch.

Jason still misses his dog. You can watch him looking for him to come bounding down the stairs when he comes home from school and suddenly remember that he won't be doing so. But he is no longer grieving. And he's picked out a new puppy from the litter of a dog who just gave birth a coupld of blocks away.

It is such a gift to know this technology.
