Santa Barbara Volunteer Minister

I enjoyed reading this article from the Volunteer Ministers web site today. I think anyone who would spent most of the past year doing volutneer work is an exceptional human being. It was great reading about her.

Scientology Volunteer Ministers Know They Are Bettering The Lives of Others

It was the realization of the impact they had made in the lives of others while in Sri Lanka that inspired Sarah Sears to leave her Santa Barbara home to continue her work as a Volunteer Minister.

Within days of the devastating tsunami of December 2004 that left over 35,000 dead and 1,000,000 Sri Lankans homeless, the Sarah Sears arrived in the country to coordinate the work of the Scientology Volunteer Ministers Disaster Relief team.

For five months she worked with local and international Rotary Clubs, Lions Clubs, police, teachers, and business, religious and community leaders in Sri Lanka providing for the basic needs of the people in the region and bringing them the technology of L. Ron Hubbard to help them overcome the trauma and rebuild their lives.

Sarah then decided to help the people of another country half-way around the world. Her story continues tomorrow.
